Hi, I'm Coach Riccio, and I’m proud to be a Physical Education teacher at West Boynton Middle School. I’ve been teaching P.E. in Palm Beach County for six years and have loved every moment of it. Originally from Long Island, New York, I moved to sunny South Florida in 2019. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland, where I was actively involved in athletics as both a club gymnast and an NCAA diver.
Staying active has always been a central part of my life, and I truly enjoy sharing that passion with young athletes. Since 2004, I’ve had the privilege of coaching multiple sports, and nothing excites me more than watching athletes develop their skills, gain confidence, and grow throughout the season. Their progress is what motivates me as a coach every single day.
During the current school year, I’ve served as the head coach for the WBMS Softball team, and as a conditioning coach for both the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams, as well as the boys’ baseball team. I’ve also had the honor of coaching Track & Field—serving as a head coach at West Boynton Middle School for both the 2024 and 2025 seasons, and as an assistant coach at Park Vista High School during the 2024 season.
I’m excited to continue this journey with our Track & Field team and look forward to helping a new group of athletes discover their strengths, push their limits, and enjoy the thrill of competing.
Hi, I’m Marcela Mendoza! I’ve spent over 21 years as a Physical Education teacher, with 19 of those years dedicated to working with elementary students. My love for sports started early—I was a high school track athlete, and that passion led me to the University of Florida, where I earned a degree in Athletic Training. I always knew I wanted a career that kept me close to sports and health.
Becoming a mom changed my path a bit, but it also opened up something incredible—I discovered how much I love teaching and helping young athletes grow. That journey led me to coaching, and I’m proud to be the head coach for the girls' track team at WBMS, a role I’ve held since the 2023 season. I’ve also had the chance to coach Cross Country and Track at Park Vista High School as an assistant.
For me, coaching is about so much more than winning. It’s about watching kids step onto the track with little experience and seeing them leave with confidence, skills, and a sense of pride. Nothing beats watching their faces light up when they achieve something they didn’t think they could. Sports have always been a huge part of my life, and coaching is my way of giving back.
Hi! I’m Coach Kirk, a Florida native who grew up in Palm Beach County. Sports have been part of my life since high school, where I ran cross country and track, set school records, and even competed in Australia, bringing home gold and silver medals.
Those experiences lit the fire for what I do today. For 15 years I’ve been a certified educator, teaching and coaching with a passion for helping students discover their strengths. I’ve coached cross country and track for nearly a decade, watching athletes break records, qualify for state, and even earn scholarships. Along the way, I was honored as SHAPE Florida and Southern District High School PE Teacher of the Year, and now train teachers nationwide as part of the OPEN National Training Team.
I’m grateful to coach both at the high school level and with Fearless Track Club. At the same time, I’ve started a new season leading “Mama School” at home with my two kids, Rylee and Kaiden, while also teaching gymnastics in the evenings. Coaching is more than a job for me—it’s about shaping lives, building resilience, and passing on the same lessons sports gave me.
